Peterborough City Pastors Prayer Breakfast

Who we are:

A group of church leaders who have been meeting regularly since 1996, The group is open to anyone who is in church leadership in Peterborough and the surrounding region.

Where we meet:

The City Pastors Prayer Breakfast meets at Peterborough Salvation Army (in Bourges Boulevard, New England) every two weeks on a Wednesday morning at 8 am for 8.15 am.

What happens:

Arrive at 8 am and be greeted with a hot drink. Prayer starts at 8.15 am, led by one of the group, and can take a variety of forms. At 8.45 am breakfast is served and consists of toast and tea, or a full English breakfast, beautifully prepared by the staff at the Salvation Army. People usually leave from 9.15 am onwards.

Peterborough Hope 2008 Planning Meeting - 17 January 2007

Meeting at Peterborough Community Church Wednesday 17 January 2007

Present: Chair Dave Smith (PCC), Carol Bailey (Salvation Army), Jonathan Baker (Peterborough Cathedral), Teresa Brown (Shire & Soke, Ecumenical), David Jennings (All Souls RC Church), Chris Moreton (Southside Methodist Church), Graham Timson (Church on the Rock, Elim) David Whitlock (Bretton Baptist Church).

Introductions by everyone, followed by prayer, led by Graham Timson.

Everyone shared something of their thoughts on Hope 08 so far:
Jonathan: positive identity for the church in the city.
Graham: involved from launch at NEC, impact the city in a new way.
Chris: opportunity to engage the circuit as well as congregation.
Carol: more churches to be involved locally, working with the S. Army.
David J: closer to each other, speaking with one voice in the city.
Teresa: opportunity for all churches to work together.
David W: High expectations, having been involved in Soul in the city.
Dave S: Wide support for “doing good” evangelism, “operation kindness”.

Discussion & action
1 Invite one of the 3 main leaders to come to
Peterborough and address church leaders here,
to raise interest & enthusiasm in the city.
Find contact details for Roy Crowne and invite him. DS

2 Be pro-active within our own denominations. All

3 Future Presentation to Brian Mawhinney on
how the church can serve the city.
Also working with local police.

4 Prayer preparation during 2007.
Paul Larcombe to be asked if he would be
Prayer co-ordinator, and also join this group. TB

5 Re large event in the city, check out availablility
and cost of stadium. TB
