1.      17 May & Laurence Singlehurst at PCC
Feedback & follow up

Attendance was good – 51 for lunch and 41 in the evening. A wide cross-section of churches across the denominations, though some Pentecostal churches were missed. Despite it being Ascension Day, there was broad representation from across the Anglican churches, including a few from the Ely diocese as well as Peterborough, and two RC churches were also represented.

Laurence spoke very well and his lunchtime talk was recorded. Caroline will send copies to all on the planning team. Teresa will circulate a list of all the churches that have signed up to be committed to Hope 2008. Each member of the planning team is asked to follow this up with personal contact to encourage others who were not at the meeting in their own denomination stream.

2.            Prayer strategy

Paul emailed to say that a prayer card is being prepared.

Prayer items – the list for May was distributed at the meeting last week. Teresa will send email distribution list to Paul.

3.      13 September – Roy Crowne at PCC.

Publicity flyers and posters needed. Caroline to design these, Teresa to draft 2 letters to go out with these in first week of June – one for those who came on May 17, and another for those who weren’t there. Caroline will liase with Roy Crowne, via Matt Wild. A detailed format of the evening will be decided at the next meeting. Dave Smith will host the evening with Jonathan Baker, and the worship will be led by an invited group from the churches represented by the planning team - contemporary worship that is inclusive and well led by musicians and singers. Because of the P.A. equipment at PCC, Dave will discuss the technical issues of this in advance of the next meeting.

Some of those suggested to be invited as musicians are:

Russ Dawson Butterworth – Dogsthorpe Methodist (keyboard)

Simon Campling – Crops (drums)

Julian Brage – Salvation Army (cornet/trumpet)

4         Looking ahead to 2008 high points

New year, Easter, Pentecost & Bank hols, September, Christmas

These will also be discussed at the next meeting, but if a January date for the New Year or even New Years Eve at the Cathedral can be confirmed soon, that would be very useful. Simon will contact youth leaders about ideas for New Year.

5.          Finance

Teresa requested an invoice from PCC to Shire & Soke for the Laurence Singlehurst evening. Thank you to the churches whose treasurers have already written cheques for £100 to fund initial costs. Please make cheques payable to Shire & Soke and post them to Teresa Brown, 21 Main Street, Thurning, Nr Oundle Peterborough PE8 5RB.

We did suggest that each church donates £1 per member of an average Sunday adult attendance, (rather than membership), by the end of 2007, so if any churches wish to pay that all in one go, please feel free to do so.
