Peterborough Hope 2008 Prayer pointers - updated 2-9-07
Give thanks:
- Give thanks and praise God for the blessing upon the Peterborough Hope 2008 planning team meetings, which have gone very well and show a wide ownership by churches in the city.
- Give thanks for the lunchtime and evening meetings for church leaders and leadership teams that took place on Thursday 17 May. Laurence Singlehurst (Cell UK) came to Kingsgate, Peterborough Community Church and was very encouraging.
- Give thanks that 29 churches in Peterborough have made a definite commitment to be part of Peterborough Hope 2008.
Please pray:
- For the evening meeting aimed at church leaders, leadership teams and congregations on Thursday 13 September. The speaker will be Roy Crowne (Youth for Christ). Venue Kingsgate, Peterborough Community Church.
- For those planning the launch event on 31 December, New Years Eve, which will take place at Peterborough Cathedral.
- For the right timing for a possible event at Peterborough United Football Club around Pentecost 2008, or an event at Peterborough embankment, or featuring at the Peterborough Festival.
- For the release of finance for visiting speakers and associated expenses.
- For wisdom for the planning team about how to administrate and finance Peterborough Hope 2008.
- For churches to start to put together their Hope 2008 events.
- For even more churches in Peterborough and the region to make a definite commitment and for each to appoint a prayer link-person.
- For God's blessing upon other cities, towns and communities around the UK as Hope 2008 gathers momentum.
- That those viewing the Hope 2008 DVD would be inspired and become committed.
- That Peterborough Hope 2008 would be able to bless other communities.
