Ones 2 Watch

Here's my rundown of who's going to be storming up the charts this year:

Reel

Reel are identical twins, Joseph and Colin (both 19), Gary (21), Matthew (20) and Philip (20). The lucky Irish five-some won Best New Tour Act '00 at the Smash Hits Poll Winners Party, beating Boom and Addis Black Widow. They hope to follow in the footsteps of Westlife, Five, BSB and Boyzone who all also won the award at the beginnings of their careers. The big difference about this band is that they all play instruments. The twins both play guitar, while Gary plays the mandolin and banjo, Matthew plays the whistle and Philip plays the piano.

Human Nature

Here is the Australian four-piece version of *NSync, and they sound just as good, too! Their debut single is called He Don't Love You, and is a definite big hit in my mind. The band's names are Michael, Andrew, Phil and Toby, and they are a huge hit in their home, Australia, where they have released a few albums already.

Jonathan Wilkes

22-year-old Jonathan has a bit of a head start in the music business - his best friend and flatmate is none other than Robbie Williams! The pair both lived in Stoke On Trent when they were children and were introduced to each other when their mums became friends. But Robbie isn't his only famous friend. Jonathan was in a band called Jonathan and the Space Girls, with Michelle from Girl Thing, who at the time had the nickname, Babs (?!). His debut single (out in March) seems to be a mixture of Robbie Williams and Ronan Keating (Having the same songwriter helps!), which is not exactly a problem, is it?!

Boom

Let me introduce you to the latest girl-boy group, Boom! There are three girls, (l-r) Vicky, Rachael and Shakti, and three boys, Shaun, Johnny (Lisa Steps boyfriend) and Nick. They sang their single, Fallin', on the Smash Hits Tour and Poll Winners Party, and although they didn't win Best New Band, they look set to overcome that and still do fantastically well in the future. Fallin' got to number 11 in the charts, but they are hoping to do better next time and get in the top ten.

O-Town

My favourite new group for this year is O-Town. They've already starred in their own Popstars-style TV programme and had a hit single and album in America, but now it's time for them to hit Great Britain. And they're doing it in style, by releasing the fantastic Liquid Dreams as a debut single. The vital info is that their names are (clockwise from top left): Dan Miller, Ashley Parker-Angel, Trevor Pennick, Erik-Michael Estrada, Jacob Underwood, and O-Town comes from the town in which they were formed - Orlando. If you watched Making The Band, you may like to know that Ikaika, Bryan and Mike have formed a band called LMNT with a boy called Matt.

Other new acts to look out for are:

Addis Black Widow - A weird hip-hop/pop duo

Brothers - Lisa Steps' three brothers

Dream - Puff Daddy's latest girl band creation

Eve - An American rapper with a Latin flavour to her catchy song Who's That Girl

Kaci - A fourteen year old Jennifer Lopez from America

Omero Mumba - Samantha Mumba's younger brother

Skandal - Could they be the new Five?
