Hedgehog Habitat:
Hedgehogs are found throughout the United Kingdom, with the exception of some of our offshore islands.Broadleaved woodland, parkland, hedgerows, railway embankments, wasteland and gardens all offer suitable habitat for the Hedgehog.Attracting Hedgehogs to your garden can be very worthwhile,as they are excellent natural pest-controllers,making short work of your slug and snail population.

A well-planted garden, with plenty of cover, and a few trees, will be an enticing place for Hedgehogs, while having a garden that backs on to woodland,is a huge bonus. Not being over tidy can also help.Leaving fallen leaves will provide Hedgehogs with nesting material, and encourage them to make their home within your garden.
As their natural habitat is destroyed by intensive farming, housing developments,or yet another by-pass,Hedgehogs are becoming more dependant on our gardens for survival. Hedgehogs have a surprisingly difficult time finding drinking water. Many garden ponds have sides that are too steep for a Hedgehog to drink safely. Badgers are perhaps a Hedgehog`s only natural predator.Rolling into a ball is no defence against a Badger`s strong claws
