In all 23 fibula brooches have been recovered, just 3 are from the excavation area, of the total 13 were located in the canal field near the river, this suggests perhaps a river crossing existed here.

The following samples are illustrated  in order to show the types in use in the area, the location is given in the description, the position of the fields mentioned can be seen on the aerial photo on page "Romans in Staffordshire".
