MATCH ARRANGEMENTS
The first named player/ pair is responsible
for making first contact.
First contact must be made no later
than 7 days after the designated start date
The first named player/pair must offer
at least 3 dates, at least one of which must be on a weekend The
second named player/ pair must respond within 4 days of first
contact, either accepting one of the dates offered or offering
at least 3 alternatives, at least one of which must be on a weekend.
Matches must be completed within the
designated time period (DTP). Extensions of up to 7 days will
be allowed in exceptional circumstances only and only if applied
for in advance.
In the absence of an application for
an extension and in order not to delay the tournament to the inconvenience
of other players, the Tournament Organiser (TO) reserves the right
to decide any tie not completed within the DTP by the toss of
a coin or by the exclusion of either or both players/ pairs, depending
on his interpretation of the efforts made by both sides to complete
the tie.
POSTPONEMENTS
Once arranged matches should not be
postponed or rearranged except for adverse weather or in exceptional
circumstances
If it is not possible to rearrange
a postponed match within the DTP the TO reserves the right to
award the tie to the player/ pair not responsible for the postponement.
In the case of a weather postponement, the TO reserves the right
to decide the match by toss of coin.
INJURIES
It is accepted that injuries do occur.
Every effort should be made to allow an injured player to recover
– but only within the DTP. If an injured player is unable
to play a match within the DTP the match will be awarded to the
uninjured player/ pair.
If a match date has been agreed towards
the end of the DTP because of injury and it is subsequently postponed
and cannot be rearranged within a time scale acceptable to the
TO, the TO will reserve the right to award the tie to player/
pair not responsible for the initial delay.
WEATHER
Once started a match must be played
to a conclusion. Should weather conditions mean that a match has
to be interrupted play must restart at the exact point it was
when it was halted. This means players should take care to note
the score, who was serving and from which end etc.

FINALS WEEKEND
The club has traditionally held the
finals over two days and will do so again this year on Saturday
10 and Sunday 11 September. All entrants should make every effort
to ensure that they are available for play on finals weekend,
especially in the Open competitions.
Drinks and cakes will be available
for players and spectators so please come along and support the
finalists.
The TO will endeavour to ensure that
a finalist does not have to compete in more than two events in
one day by rescheduling some of the Over 45, 60 or 70 events to
a different weekend if necessary.
