John
was born in Newington Green, Islington but moved to Luton, whilst
still incontinent, to begin the arduous task of growing up. After
moving to Bristol John wore flared trousers during his 'A' Level
years, studying Biology, Economics and English.
After
a year of working as a bus conductor (a childhood dream) John went
to University in Bradford, there learning about the making of a
good curry as well as finding time to obtain a degree in European
Literature and the History of Ideas and Sociology.
On
his return to London John began working in children's theatre. Friends
suggested that his style and sense of the whimsical might go down
well in a late-night comedy venue. They are no longer John's friends.
During
his rise to fame John has performed at the Edinburgh Festival and
is a regular on TV and radio. His stage show has developed and grown,
now encompassing poetry, song and dance.
