Carmelo FABRI, 122798, born 1st December 1861  Joined the Royal Navy in December 1882 on board HMS Monarch as a Bandsman, but in May 1883 became a Domestic, and left the Navy in November 1885 at his own request

 

Joseph FAIELLA, E/JX164541, Able Seaman, died 24th November 1940, serving at HMS St.Angelo, Naval shore base

 

Angelo FALZON, Steward, E/LX25509, died 19th Decembr 1941, on board the cruiser HMS Neptune. His ship ran into a minefield and sank with the loss of all the officers and men, except one

Gaetano FALZON, E/LX21856, died 25th November 1941, on board the Battleship HMS Barham, which was torpedoed in the Eastern Mediterranean by the German U-Boat U-331. His ship exploded killing 862 members of the crew

Giuseppe FALZON, of Valletta, served on HMS Aurora and/or HMS Captain in 1794. He made an arrangement that part of his wages would be paid to his family in Malta

Michele FALZON, Fireman, was on board HMS White Head in World War I. His ship was a Store Carrier and was torpedoed by a German submarine 40 miles from Suda Bay, on 15th October 1917. The ship sank and 23 men lost their lives

Giuseppe FARRUGIA, died 31st May 1916, at the Battle of Jutland. He was serving as an Officer’s Cook on the Battle Cruiser HMS Indefatigable. Three armour-piercing shells fired by the German Ship Von der Tann, penetrated the Indefatigable’s deck and exploded inside the ship blowing up a magazine. As the stricken ship started to sink by the stern more shells hit near the bow. This time within thirty seconds there was a violent explosion as another magazine blew up and the doomed ship heeled over and disappeared beneath the sea. It happened so fast that there were only two survivors, and 1,019 men lost their lives

Alfredo FORMOSA, died 1915. He was the Canteen Manager on the Torpedo Gunboat HMS Hussar

 

Angelo FORMOSA, died 31st May 1916 at the Battle of Jutland. He was a Bandsman on the Armed Cruiser HMS Black Prince. His ship had sustained some damage from a heavy shell during the day, but became separated from other British ships and around midnight came across German battleship Thuringen about 1,000 yards away. The German ship turned her powerful spotlights onto the Black Prince and opened fire with her 12inch guns. Less than a minute after the shells struck there were two massive explosions as the magazines blew up. Every one of the 857 men on board lost their lives

Antonio FRENDO, L4290, born in Valletta 20th February 1892. Joined the Royal Navy in March 1913 on board HMS Terrible. He was killed in action 31st May 1916 at the Battle of Jutland whilst serving on HMS Queen Mary. In the afternoon his ship came under attack by the German battleships Seydlitz and Derfflinger. At 16.46 a flame shot up from the forepart of the Queen Mary followed almost immediately by two explosions, one forwards and one amidships. The ship itself then blew up with a terrific explosion, the masts collapsed inwards and the whole ship was covered by a thick cloud of smoke. Only a handful of the crew survived and were rescued by the destroyer HMS Petard

Peter GALEA, L3411, born 25th August 1893, died 27th May 1915. He was an Officer’s Steward on HMS Princess Irene. The ship was built for the Canadian Pacific Railway but when completed in 1914 was requisitioned by the Royal Navy and converted into a minelayer. His ship was moored in the River Medway when there was a massive explosion at 11.15 a.m. on the 27th, destroying the ship and causing a very heavy loss of life. An enquiry discovered that they were preparing 500 mines when the accident happened. Three men of the ship’s crew were ashore and one man survived but all the other 221 officers and men died. Also on board were 80 Petty Officers and 76 workers from Sheerness Dockyard, who also perished in the disaster

R. GLUTTER, died 31st May 1916 at the Battle of Jutland. He was a Canteen Server on the Armed Cruiser HMS Black Prince. His ship had sustained some damage from a heavy shell during the day, but became separated from other British ships and around midnight came across German battleship Thuringen about 1,000 yards away. The German ship turned her powerful spotlights onto the Black Prince and opened fire with her 12inch guns. Less than a minute after the shells struck there were two massive explosions as the magazines blew up. Every one of the 857 men on board lost their lives
