Five of our athletes were honoured with selection to run for Devon this year, with Martin Rush being highest finisher in 75th. Other placings were : Mike Feighan (137th senior man), Lorraine Clements (165th senior lady), Arron Kearney (244th U/17 boys) and Cassie Southcombe (167th U/15 girls)

Westward Cross Country League, Paignton, 19/02/2000
As the cross country season draws to a close, Bideford atheltes are still racking up good results over
the grass and mud. Two runner-up spots were the highlight this time - Kirsty Hamilton and Brett Rigler
having excellent runs. Lorraine Clements maintained the ladies team challenge with 4th, and Kim Ward
had perhaps her best run of the winter for 6th

Gwent Cross Country League, Swansea, 19/02/2000
Our senior men's squad, supported by Peter Hockin's Devonshire Pine, have consolidated their second place, with a small chance of overhauling leaders Les Croupiers after the penultimate Gwent League meeting. Peter Cawse led the sextet home, 11th (and 2nd vet). Other runners were Ricky Butler (18th), Andrew Ingle (26th), Jon Parkinson (34th), Peter Hockin (47th) and Bill Siviter (74th)

This was the first race of a Somerset series, in which Peter Rigler usually performs well in a
number of the races. He came 6th in a time of 43:43.
Spidernet Pafos Marathon/Half Marathon/10K, Pafos, Cyprus, 27/02/2000
A new country added to the club's travels as Coxy organised a trip to Cyprus for the races in the town of Pafos.
Sixteen runners competed, including guest entrant from SWRR Alan Littlejohns. Of the seven in the 10K, five picked up
awards with youngsters Brett and Ollie leading the group, while Karen Hodgkins was first lady. Over the half, Peter Hockin was the quickest and won his
age group, while over the full marathon the first home was Neil Marke. The trip was able to happen thanks to support
from Devonshire Pine and R T Marke & Co.
