The Grizzly, Seaton, 02/04/2000
Generally acknowledged to be the hardest event on the calendar, and yet always over-subsrcibed many
months in advance. Just two Blues this year, but Jenny Mills finished in the prizes yet again.

Paris Marathon, France, 09/04/2000
Tracy Lark and Liz Oke both decided to cross the Channel for a weekend away, and the small matter of 26.2 miles running. Liz finished in 4:38:24, with Tracy just behind in 4:38:54. Even though they only finished 30 seconds apart, they never saw each other throughout the race. What they did see, however, where hordes of cheating French, taking short cuts etc.!

Flora London Marathon, 16/04/2000
The annual flagship event of long distance running saw a good contingent of Blues travelling to
London, some running for a fast time, others just to get around, still others raising large amounts
for their favourite charity. Recent recruit Mike Feighan led the squad home, a fine run placing
well inside the top 100 runners, with Simon Edney not far behind. Neil Paddon and Jeff Snell both
cracked their personal bests, while for seven of our runners it was the first time over the magical
distance of 26 miles, 385 yards, with the inspiration of the large crowds helping them home.

Devon League Track & Field, Braunton, 30/04/2000
A new track season is upon us, and due to our inability to field consistently a large enough team, we have decided not to enter the SW League this year, but to concentrate on the Devon League. A host of event wins marked our début, and when all the points were added up we are lying in fourth in total. Special mention to the Under 11 Girls, who LEAD their event, by a single point from North Devon
