Westward League Cross Country, Exeter, 01/12/2002
At last an almost dry day for a Westward League event. The change in conditions made no difference to Kirsty Hamilton, who continued her 100% record but was made to fight very hard for her victory by long-term rival Abbie Williamson of Newquay & Par. Kevin Heywood returned to winning form, reversing his defeat at St Austell by stretching right away from Steven Waldron on the last of three laps. Helen Parkinson's fine recent form continued, too, with a runner-up spot which also gave her first Senior Lady in the SW Champs, while Lorraine took second vet and the U/15 Boys second team in the Champs.
