Even though this event has been shortened by a couple of miles this year, it's still an awesome 32+ mile challenge. Mike Feighan revels in races like this, and won by approximately 6 minutes. Our other three competitors finished together.

DML Saltram 5K, Saltram, 07/06/2003

Martin and Lucy Owen took part in this Saturday evening event. Martin finished 8th and 2nd O/40 in 16:39, while Lucy was 21st, 2nd lady and 1st O/35 with a time of 18:24



Kit Hill Run, Callington, 08/06/2003

A group of four tackled the senior event as shown below, but the best performance of all came from Luke Rigler as he retained the junior fun run that he won last year.

Yeovil 5K Series Race 3, Yeovil, 11/06/2003

Yeovil Town RRC run a series of 5K races on summer Wednesday nights, and Martin and Lucy Owen ran in this one. Martin was 6th in 15:59, and Lucy was first lady in 17:58. Third lady was a name some of you may remember, ex-Blues Helen Wainwright.

No prizes for guessing our most successful athlete at the Devon Schools, Kirsty bagged the Junior Girls 800m, setting an English Schools qualifying time in the process, and also running marginally faster than the winner of the intermediate girls group. Carl, Leanne, Nick and Callie also ran well.

Andrew Ingle was placed in the "D" race at this meeting, and set a seasons best of 1:55.87 for the 800m



North Devon AC Minors meeting, Braunton, 15/06/2003

A disappointing turnout of only 5 Blues juniors for a meeting that started late to due very distruptive roadwords at Ashford, and was a little bit of an organisational shambles in places, especially regarding the 1500m where both Adam and Erica missed the race.

South West Schools Championships, Exeter, 21/06/2003

Kirsty Hamilton had the misfortune to be disqualified from the 800m final after breaking from her lane early. Thankfully this has not affected her deserved selection for the English Schools in Sheffield in July. She had previously won her heat in 2:19.4, and ran an unofficial 2:22 in the final.
