Neil Marke led our squad home here, finishing in exactly the same position (29th) as last year.
B M C Grand Prix, Solihull, 06/08/2003
Kirsty Hamilton and Andrew Ingle competed in one of the well-organised BMC meetings, where all the races are organised to try to drag runners to a fast time with quality pacemakers. Kirsty ran the "E" race for ladies over 800m and produced a major improvement to a new club record of 2:16.99 finishing in second place. Andrew competed in the "B" men's 1500m and set a season's best of 3:50.70 in fifth place. Kirsty's time now ranks her tenth in the country.

The third Devon League fixture of the season, held in warm conditions with
the usual Braunton cooling breeze being a welcome relief. Small fields were
the order of the day, but our runners performed well with no fewer than four

Plymouth 10K, Plymouth, 10/08/2003
The heat was the major factor here, as Kevin Heywood and Stuart Philps were both minutes slower than last year over the same course. After two runner-up positions in previous years, Kevin had to settle for fourth this time around. Jenny picked up second O/50, while Maurice took third in the equivalent men's category.

Round-the-Houses, Appledore, 14/08/2003
A welcome return to the calendar for the twice-round Appledore race, with a low-key race due to the short notice meaning most of the runners were BAAC representatives. Andrew Ingle got the better of Peter Hockin and Ricky Butler towards the end of the first lap, and that's how they stayed. In the ladies race, there was a huge ovation for the winner Jenny Cockwill, leading home Lois and Sue.

Race The Train, Twywn, 16/08/2003
Steve Davies managed the impressive feat of beating the steam train, while Andy just missed out for the third year running. Kirsty took the first U/15 girl prize in the junior race, but was surprisingly beaten by Kayleigh-Ann Brown from South Wales, an Under 13.

Battle of Sedgemoor 10K, Langport, 24/08/2003
A rare race turnout for Jon Ward saw him return successful, and with the 1-2-3 in the vets event, Blues vests were certainly much in evidence.
