Dear Lizzie Ann, David, Frances, J.M. and baby
We now take the pleasure of writing these few lines to you hoping that they find all pretty well. Also hoping that J.M. is much better. Mamma is pretty well, I myself am quite well. We feel it funny without J.M. today. We hope he is a very good boy. We feel rather lonely without him. We hope that Frances is much better in Birmingham. We are having a nice quiet Sunday, but very hot weather. Our Preacher is Mr Morgan (Bow Street). The text was this morning first epistle of John, 2nd chapter, first verse, and was very long about it. I had hard work to keep from sleeping. The Sunday School was rather small. We are going to have a grand opening of the new schoolroom sometime in this month.
There is nothing very fresh here now so I have not much news to tell you, only be very good children and write often, and may God bless you all. His rich blessing upon you every one. Kate Hughes has not returned Frances’s songs yet but we hope to have them. Hoping that you are spending a nice Sunday in the highest sense of the word. Please do write very soon. Mamma is so very anxious to know how J.M. is. We hope that dear little Maglona is cheerful and nice. Our very best love to David and every one of you without exception.
