Dear Lizzie Ann, David, JM & Lona
We now take the pleasure of writing these few lines to you hoping that you are all quite well as we are all pretty well at present. We would have liked if John had stopped with us but he was so much for going to see Mamma & Lona. Never mind, he will come again all being well. Frances went to Dolgelly and did alright and did not take cold, although it was very cold that night you remember.
Our preacher for today Mr Idris Jones the son of Josiah Jones, you know he has been in America for many years, and he preached a very timely sermon on the old year and to begin the new. The text was Philippians 1st chapter, 21 & 23rd verses, and he made some very nice remarks; indeed rather an old fashioned preacher in his way. Our school today no. 86. I enjoyed myself trying to teach some women. We had an Eisteddfod on New Years day but Frances did not try anything as she had been out the night before. They were very much pleased with her in Dolgelly and were very kind to her. They are going to write to you early. So we have not much news to tell you only that we are spending a very happy Sunday. Hoping that you are also. Tell the children to be very good. Best love to David.
So we conclude with our very best love to you all.
From Father, Mother & Frances
May God bless you all the beginning of this new year.
