Braunton
Camera Club Competition Rules
Amended
April 2007
1:
Work of any age is allowed providing it has not been previously entered in
Braunton CC competitions.
The
competition secretary has the right to withdraw any previously entered, after
informing the member.
Entries
in any section must be significantly dissimilar from those in other sections or
those entered in previous competitions.
2: Print section:
A maximum of three entries per member is allowed and work may be all colours, all monochrome or a mix of both.
Monochrome: Is defined as a print in different tones of the
same colour, which may include one additional colour.
Colour: Is defined as an image, which has two or more colours.
All
prints must be mounted on card not to exceed 40 x 50 cms and all entries must
bear the entrants membership number (not name),
and title on the reverse of prints,
‘Three on a Theme’: Each member may enter 3 sets of three 6 x 4
en-prints, no larger, on a theme
and suitably mounted. An invited guest
judge will assess the competition.
‘Variations on a Theme’: The previous year’s winner will provide a print,
(and adjudicate the competition), which the member/s may enter only one print,
manipulated in whichever way he/she chooses.
3: Projected Image section:
Three
only may be entered whether they are all analogues, or all digital or a mix of
both.
Analogue: Three only per member is allowed and must be mounted
in 2 x 2 mounts, and spotted with a marker pen (not
a sticky label) in the lower left-hand side of the mount when
viewed the correct way.
Digital: Three only
may be entered, saved as JPEG 12 Maximum with long side of the image being 1024
and short side 768 pixels, or if the image has been cropped, tick the constrain
proportion box and let the short side take care of itself, ready for a Picturestoexe presentation. A
title or number (i.e. 001 etc) must appear with the image
and the entrants membership number not name
must appear on the CD for the competition secretary to identify the member for
the accumulative points system.
‘Buy a Subject’: A fee of £1 per subject is payable and the winner receives £10 & the remaining balance will be for club
funds. 1 projected image per subject is
allowed and can be analogue or digital. Rules apply as above for both analogue & digital.
An
invited guest judge will assess the competition.
‘Dennis Glyde Memorial Trophy’
For Digitally Projected Images. Three only may be entered which may or may not have been in other competitions throughout the season, these are eligible and rules regarding sizing apply for this competition, (see above).
Audio Visual: Sequence not to exceed 5 minutes in length. Number
of sequences per member to be decided when the committee know how many entries
there are likely to be, during the winter session.
4:
The closing date for competitions will be shown in the programme and are final.
Entries
submitted in any particular competition may not be re-entered for subsequent club competitions with
the exception of the ‘Print & Slide of The Year’.
5:
Entries for the ‘Print and Slide of the Year’ competition must be selected from
work already submitted in the current winter programme competitions.
6:
The judge/s will be asked to award points out of 20 to all entries in each
section of the competitions.
Award
cards and trophies will be awarded to members at the AGM according to points
gained throughout the winter season.
7: Members having won trophies or cups the previous year are asked to
relinquish them to the competition secretary, ready for engraving, One month prior to the AGM.
8:
External competitions & rules: - These will be provided as and when they
arise.

disqualification and disappointment.
