1. Judges decision is final.
2. All entries are accepted only upon the terms of these General
Conditions and of any special conditions set out in the Schedule. In the
event of any conflict between these General Conditions and any such
special conditions, the special conditions will prevail. All competitors
agree to be bound by these General Conditions and any special conditions
set out in the Schedule.
3. No entry will be accepted unless accompanied by the correct
fee specified in the Schedule. Paid-up members of the Tunbridge Wells
Riding Club (TWRC) are entitled to reduced entry fee as stated in the
Schedule. No competitor will be allowed to compete unless the correct
entry fee has been paid. The organisers reserve the right to refuse any
entry in their absolute discretion.
4. Entries close on the date specified in the Schedule,. Late
entries will only be accepted (if at all) on the terms specified in the
Schedule.
5. Telephone entries will not be accepted.
6. The organisers reserve the right in their absolute discretion
to cancel the Show, Event or Trials to which the show relates. In case
of such cancellation all entry fees will be refunded subject to a
deduction of £4 for each competitor to cover administration expenses.
7. No entry fee will be refunded in case of withdrawal after the
close of entries without prior production of a doctor's or an
independent veterinary's certificate. Any such entry fee will be
refunded subject to a deduction of £4 for each competitor to cover
administrative expenses.
8. The organisers reserve the right in their absolute discretion:
(i) to cancel any class (in which case any entry fee for such class will
be refunded subject to a £4 deduction to cover administrative expenses);
(ii) to combine any classes (in which case any entry fees will, if
appropriate, be adjusted to that applying to the less expensive class);
(iii) to divide any class (in which case prize money will be awarded
separately in respect of each division);
(iv) to alter the order of classes;
(v) to reduce prizes and/or prize money in cases of insufficient
entries.
9. Any objections are to be made at the Secretary's tent within
30 minutes of the alleged incident accompanied by a deposit of £10. The
deposit will be refunded if the objection is upheld; If the objection is
dismissed the deposit is retained.
10. Everyone mounted, whether a competitor or not, must wear
protective headgear which includes a permanently fixed non-detachable
retaining harness secured to the shell at more than two places and
properly adjusted at all times.
11. No competitor shall misuse whips, spurs, equipment, saddlery or
practice jumps. The practice jumps will be flagged and any person found
jumping the wrong way will be eliminated from the show.
12. All dogs must be kept on leads at all times.
13. The organisers reserve the right in their absolute discretion
to have removed from the ground or from the show any person, whether a
competitor or not, who acts in such a way contrary to these General
Conditions or any special conditions set out in the Schedule. Any
competitor so removed shall not be entitled to any refund of any entry
fee.
14.
Save for death or any personal injury caused by the negligence of the
organisers or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the
organisers of the Show nor the TWRC, nor the British Horse Society, nor
any agent, employee or representative of these bodies accepts any
liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses,
owners, riders, land, spectators or any other person or property
whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or in
any other way whatsoever.
15. No horse may compete twice in any class.
16. No horse under the age of 4 years may compete in any ridden or
jumping class.
17. Each and every competitor hereby agrees and undertakes to
indemnify the organisers and the TWRC against any and all liability out
of or in connection with their own negligence or breach of duty or
failure to comply with the terms of these General Conditions or of any
special conditions set out in the Schedule.
18. Horses must not be left unsupervised if tied to the outside of
horseboxes or trailers.
19. Horses must walk on the showground.
