Haynes Motor Museum

Sparkford, nr Yeovil

Some of my favourite examples

1936 Cord

A classic Art Deco design. Highly influential but a commercial flop.

Armstrong Siddeley

This car was the swansong of Armstrong Siddeley Motors

Austin Metropolitan

A UK licensed version of a US Frazer-Nash design. A bit of an oddity

Citroen Traction Avant

A landmark design with its front wheel drive

De Lorean

The notorious De Lorean still looks fantastic with its stainless steel body

Dodge Charger

A real muscle car from the early 70's

Ferrari and Facel Vega

The Facel Vega was a French attempt to produce a luxury grand tourer

Ford Anglia

My Dad had an estate version which he wrecked after hitting black ice

Ford Edsel

A classic for all the wrong reason. One of Fords most famous flops.

Gangster car 1

A Cadillac of the Prohibition era....complete with running boards for hoods to shoot from!

Gangster car 2

A beautiful Duesenberg. This is the most valuable car in the collection.

Hillman Hunter

Produced in various versions with Singer and Humber badges, this car is still produced in Iran today.

Marcos

Famous for its kit cars, Marcos produced this beauty in the seventies

Messerschmitt Bubble Car

The Messerschmitt even had a cockpit like an aeroplane

Morris Oxford

The Minor's big sister, it was produced in India long after its demise in the UK.

Rally Ford Anglia Estate

Dad's car was never like this!

Rover SD1 Estate

A rare example of a car that never made it to production and yet arguably would have been a great success.

Rover

A classic "Cyclops" Rover from the early fifties

Stingray

The "shark" shaped Corvette from the mid sixties was one of the sexiest shapes ever made

The Red Room

Feast your eyes on this room full of red sports cars!

Trans Am

Another American muscle car, this time from Pontiac. Jim Rockford drove one of these.

Triumph Dolomite Sprint

I learned to drive in one of these!

Triumph Pillarless Saloon

I just like it that's all!

Vauxhall Cresta

One of GMs US designs transplanted to Britain. Its certainly a period piece.
