Scottish Family History Research

great grand parents McGregors in Perth Great grandfather Mitchell Mitchell grave

My great interest, apart from playing golf, is in tracing family histories. My own family has its roots around Ruthvenfield and Forgandenny as well as in Perth, Blairgowrie and Kinross. These connections can be traced back absolutely to 1790's. My maternal connections are mainly concerned with Maryhill, Glasgow but can also be traced back to Kenmore and Little Dunkeld in Perthshire. My wife, Isobel Mitchell, has paternal family ties not only firmly rooted in the Dumbarton area but family connections go back to Islay around 1819 and to Meigle whilst her maternal roots are in Cumberland.

You may want to find out not only births, deaths and marriages but more about where your ancestors lived and worked. Having lived and worked throughout Scotland for the past 35 years, I know Scotland well. I would be pleased to undertake family ancestral research relevant to any area of Scotland for a modest and agreed fee.
