Their Parents were John PROUDFOOT and Elizabeth Ferguson Fowler BLAIR.

John PROUDFOOT was born in Airdrie in 1874 to Lawrence PROUDFOOT and Barbara ROBERTSON. John, along with several of his brothers became players of the early Partick Thistle Football Club.

John's career in football started with Partick Thistle around the 1893/94 season. In 1897 he migrated south to Blackburn Rovers where he was top goal-scorer (1897/8 season) John moved to Everton in May 1898 and he was also top scorer here (1898/99 season) In May 1902 John moved to Watford before returning north to Partick Thistle again in September 1903. His last club before retiring from football was Hamilton Academicals, he played there for only one season.

John was also capped three times when he represented Glasgow in city versus city games, two of which were against Edinburgh and Sheffied.
