Frances had a brother Arthur born 1862 in Portsmouth and her Mother Charlotte born 1827 in Portsmouth. In 1881 she was a Laundress and they lived at No 7 Paget Street, St Marys, Southampton Hampshire. In 1901 John was a docks labourer.

She married on 26th December 1927 to Harold Richard Whale born 1902 a painter and decorator. He lived at 26 Albert Road, Chapel. His father William Joseph Whale was a printer.
