Mochrum Fishing Club consists of 40 members who fish Mochrum Loch which is near Maybole, Ayrshire. The loch covers an area of 24 acres and is stocked with both Brown, Blue and Rainbow trout. Access to the loch is from the B7203 Pennyglen/Maybole road turning south at the farm road to Mochrum Farm. Mochrum Loch is open to a limited number of non-members to a maximum of 5 day tickets and 2 evening tickets. The loch is open 7 days a week with the exception of competition days which are the first Sundays in each month. The season is the normal trout season from 15th March to the 6th October.

Tickets are priced at £15 per Day from 10am till 11pm with a limit of 4 fish.

Evening tickets are £10 from 6pm till 11pm with a limit of 2 fish.

Children aged 15 and under may fish on the adult ticket Free of Charge but the combined fish limit will remain as the ticket states for both anglers.

There is boat facilities for disabled anglers. Disabled angler must make a booking in advance, so that someone will be in attendance, they should also be accompanied by a helper. The boat is fitted to take wheelchairs  and is powered by an electric outboard motor and at the moment there is no charge for the use of the boat

This water is strictly FLY ONLY with no spinning or bait fishing.

Permits to fish the loch can be obtained from:- The STATION STORE  Culzean Road, at Maybole Railway station.

Mochrum  Junior Competition 2009.

Seven juniors turned up for this competition. Of the groups, the under 12 years of age Jamie Dorrans had one fish of 2lbs4ozs. Sean Brown did catch a fish after the allotted time. Connor Gracie had two fish for 3lbs7ozs. Logan Ross had no fish, try again next year. Brian Scobie had one fish of 3lbs2ozs.

Of the under 15s. Richard Todd had one fish for 3lbs1oz. Callum Gracie had two fish for 4lbs14ozs. Lots of fish were hooked and lost. Richard Todd lost at least three, Callum Gracie lost at least four and Connor Gracie lost three.

We would like to thank Alan Gracie of Ultimate Angler of Girvan for his support and sponsorship of the competition and to his wife for the beef burgers and hotdogs from the barbeque on the day.

Winners of the under 12 was Connor Gracie with two fish for 3lbs7ozs.

Winner of the under 15 was Callum Gracie with two fish for 4lbs14ozs.

The heaviest fish was caught by Brian Scobie at 3lbs2ozs.
