Adding an Accelerator card


Make sure you take adequate anti-static precautions before continuing any further.

There are many different types of accelerator cards available for the Amiga, as well as simple RAM expantion cards. But this method will work for any card as they all have the same basic L shape, so this guide can be applied to any of these cards.

1. First unplug everything connected to your Amiga, and place it on a flat clutter-free surface.

2. Turn the Amiga upside down and locate the expantion slot cover to the bottom left.


3. Insert a screwdriver in the notch to the left, and gently prise off the cover to allow access to the expansion slot.


4. Rotate and align the accelerator card as shown below.


5. Place it inside the expantion bay with the left edge resting on the bottom of the A1200 as shown below.


6. Firmly push the accelerator card to the right until it slides fully home.


7. Replace the cover.
