EMPEROR OF THE FADING SUNS NOVA The New Start |

Last updated: August 24, 1999
Due to problems with downloading EXE files from my new web site, I've replaced all the self-extracting Zip files with regular ZIP files. Please note that these files include sub-directories, so remember to tell your Unzip program to expand sub-directories if applicable.
Download NOVA2-3.ZIP (105 Kb) ("2-3" indicates the version number). Unzip this file in the directory where you installed EFS (usually "C:\EFS"). Then refer to file \EFS\DAT\NOVA.TXT for further information.
WARNING: This will overwrite many files in your EFS directory. You should backup your whole EFS directory before proceeding, or make a copy of your EFS directory and install Nova there.
NOTE: With Nova 2, it should be possible to continue old games which you started with standard EFS or Nova 1. However, this isn't recommended, as there have been major changes and you will find that some of your units and technologies have changed into completely different ones. There should be no problem with continuing games which were started with earlier versions of Nova 2. (But in a game with PBEM security you will receive a CRC checksum warning.)
Download ITSWAR2-1.ZIP (120 Kb). "It's War!" is a new scenario for EFS, created by Richard Wein specifically for multiplayer games. More info.
Download ESCAPE1-2.ZIP (1.5 Mb). "Escape From Earth" is another new scenario for EFS, created by Richard Wein specifically for multiplayer games. More info.
The Trojan Empire is a new galaxy for EFS, created by Troy Schuler (who we've named it after). To read Troy's original description of the galaxy, click here.
Download TROJ1-0.ZIP (94 Kb). Troy's original galaxy, unmodified.
Download TROJ2-0.ZIP (93 Kb). Troy's galaxy with a few modifications by Richard Wein. A complete list of the modifications is included in the Zip file. This version is for use with Nova 2.
Download EFS-EDIT.ZIP (178 Kb). This is a Map Editor, for creating your own custom galaxies. This program was only made available to registered EFS beta-testers, but, as Segasoft and Holistic have failed to complete the game themselves, I feel quite justified in making it available to anyone who wants to improve on their efforts.
Before using the map editor, please read file MAPEDIT.TXT, which is contained in the Zip file. I've written some additional information, which may save you some time.
