Where did he come from?

New Patriarch

paraI finally finished my first totally (well almost) custom galaxy. No setting here, no stories. As you can see above, I discovered something interesting. Evidently the guys at Segasoft and HDI originally planned to have the Church sects be more influential, but decided to drop it. I suppose that there are three others like him that have yet to be uncovered. Pretty cool nonetheless. I would like to thank Martin Jakubowski for all of his valuable input he gave me while I was making this galaxy. Especially when it came to the Imperial Eye. There are only two planets that are not custom, Leagueheim and Holy Terra. Both have the exact same map layouts as their counterparts in the Historical Map. I did however change the city layout on Holy Terra, mostly to make it much more difficult to take their scepters. Leagueheim, however, is as close to exact that I care to get. I have also added another Imperial planet besides Byzatium II and Stigmata. I called it Cygnus Prime. The Imperial Eye and Imperial Fleet are both based on this planet. Both ministries have just one fort on Byzantium II. On Cygnus, they both have what they had on Byzantium II, and then some. The planet is set right next to the Vau, and will act as Stigmata does for the Symbiots. I ran into a bug when it came to labs. At the beginning of first turn in the original, you were asked which technology you wished to pursue. In this one it doesn't. So, if you are playing against computer opponents, they will never research technology. In order to remedy this I had to change the ownership of the labs on the home worlds to the Rebels. They are all unoccupied so it won't be difficult to take them. This all means that you don't want to use any of your positive traits for technological advances. I went through the Traits.dat file and made changes to it so that the computer opponents won't waste theirs either. A few tips: On your home world beware of roaming units. Don't mess with the Agora on your planet. The Imperial Eye fort is no longer easy pickings. If you are playing this as a single player game save often, I have run into a couple of bugs that will make the game crash. For instance, some of you may have noticed the phantom unit bug. What this is, is after you win a battle the retreating units sometimes seem to disappear. If that happens, do not right click on the hex where they should be, the game will crash. The home worlds have been renamed, so if the computer offers you a map exchange, turn it down unitl you know the names. Build subs on Byzantium II. I have openned up a whole new sort of fun for battling on Byz II before someone declares themself emperor. This galaxy will be better utilized in PBEM games, but I have found it enjoyable as a single player. Anyone who would like to play me in a PBEM using this galaxy, but thinks I would have an unfair advantage, your right. But if you would still like to, I will send you files with the maps of all the home worlds plus Byz II. As far as all of the other planets, I made so many that they all tend to blur together. Feel free to tell me about any bugs you run into, and give me any feedback you have. The Janitor . Remember, BACKUP YOUR FILES!
