"Lochearn" is an excellent base for touring Skye, especially the scenic beauty of the north of the island.We are situated just 15 minutes drive from Portree in a very quiet location half a mile away from the main A850 road running between Portree and Dunvegan. Within a short space of time you can be in the heart of the Trotternish peninsula exploring the Old Man of Storr, the Quiraing, Duntulm Castle ruins and Kilt Rock. In the opposite direction is Dunvegan Castle, the Coral Beach, Neist Point lighthouse and cliffs, and the Talisker Whisky Distillery. Uig, the ferry port for the Western Isles of Lewis & Harris and the Uists is 20 minutes to the north.

We have just one double bedroom which has an en-suite shower and toilet and a great view over the loch. Seals, herons and curlews can be regularly seen and you may also see the occasional otter. There are garden birds such as chaffinches, greenfinches, robins, wheatears, stonechats and many other species. Sometimes you will see a kestrel hovering nearby in search of its next meal.Because we only have two guests at a time we are able to give you our personal attention. This means we can answer any questions you may have about what to see and do on Skye and suggest a variety of walks and outings.We have explored most parts of the island and can tell you where to find a nice walk or picnic spot away from some of the more popular areas which can get quite busy in the height of the season
