Held in January each year, the county cross country championships are held at various venues throughout the county. Seven different races are held, one for each of the different age-groups.

Based on the results of the championships, teams are selected to represent the County in various championships, such as the :-

UK CAU Inter-Counties
The cost of transport to and from these meetings are subsidised by the County, as it offers the athletes an opportunity to compete at a higher level of competition.
