Father Browne was a Jesuit priest who made the trip from Southampton to Queenstown onboard the Titanic, and took the largest collection of photographs of the voyage that survive today.

The book begins with a photo essay of what it was like in Queenstown when a liner stopped there, this is made up of various photographs of differing ships, but gives a good idea of life in 1912. The second half is photographs of Father Browne's Ticket and Deck Plan, before moving on to provide Facsimiles of the album pages. Each photograph has a hand-written comment made by the priest describing some part of the ship or her brief life.

The third and major section takes each photograph in turn and devotes a paragraph to describing what is happening in that particular shot. The last section includes photographs that Father Browne deemed inferior and so did not place in the album, as well as photo's of the Olympic and other pictures from sources other than Father Browne.

This is a book that I cannot praise highly enough. The photographs are produced crisply, with magnificent detail. The text supplements the illustrations perfectly. A magnificent addition to any Titanic Library.
