The Aim of the Scouts

The aim of the Scout association is to encourage the physical, mental and spiritual development of young people so that they may take a constructive place in society. The Method of achieving this aim is by providing an enjoyable and attractive scheme of progressive training, based on the Scout Promise and Law and guided by adult leadership. This is done through the voluntary efforts of the leaders of all sections giving up their valuable spare time to run the sections. Here at the Pantiles we have been fortunate to find new leaders to keep all the sections running but we are still on the look out for more help to run all sections and ensure the boys have a full and varied programme. Any one reading this letter over the age of eighteen can become a leader or a non-uniformed helper. It is proposed by the Scout Association that we increase the number of sections to try to retain the young people within the movement. To do this we need more people who are willing to give up there time to become Leaders.
