Scout Movement into the Millenium

Who are we?

The 16th Erith Scout group was formed in November 1955 and initially consisted of a Wolf Cub Pack and a Scout Troop and met in the Church Hall. Over the years the boys grew up and the Senior Scouts and Rover Scouts formed to become part of the group. As a thriving groupit was decided to erect our own Headquarters and permission was given to use the Church Grounds. An old building site hut was bought from Thamesmead and over a period of a couple of years it was erected where it stands today. It was officially opened in 1963 and the Scouts and Guides were firmly established here at the Pantiles. We have now been here 45 years and have seen a number of changes within the Scout Movement. This Group is still strong in numbers with a Beaver, two Cub, a Scout and a Venture Scout section.
