When clearing out my old 2001 copies of the Bexley magazine, some photos caught my eye ...

The photo on the right shows the closed ABC Cinema which will have memories for many past & present residents to be replaced later by flats ( apartments ).

Meanwhile the insert is the artist's impression of a future Safeway supermarket. The present-day town supermarket opened on 30th April, 2003 but now a Morrisons ( Nov, 2008 ).

2006: The insert of the artist's impression appeared in Bexley magazine, plans for new leisure centre to open in Spring 2008. Facilities include: 25-metre/six lane swimming pool, learner pool, four-court sports hall, fitness suite and dance studio.
Update 2008: now open to public as seen in above photo.
