Shaky's makes No.2 in Channel 4's "Top Ten Years of 1981" screened today, held off by Adam Ants. The program included interviews with Shaky's producer Stuart Colman and also former manager Paul Barrett as well as a Shaky interview from 1988.
Some of the footage was great too, including film from the "Elvis Musical" rehearsals.
Celebrity fans interviewed even included
Sir Tim Rice and guitar legend Duane Eddy.
Tim said "Shaky was the one that made it for me. He danced well, he moved well and he had great hair, that's all you need".

Yes folks, it's true, Danish pop group Aqua have performed a tribute song to Shakin' Stevens.
Last week on a televised interview Aqua (who had a number one hit with Barbie Girl) announced they are changing they music style to become less pop orientated and had performed a Shaky tribute song.
I'm currently looking into the possibility of a release date for the song.
The Band performed "Shakin' Stevens" live on the 1st July at the Roskilde Fetival in Denmark.  Other guests at the festival included Robbie Williams, Guns N’Roses and Bob Dylan.

Shaky gets a mention as "the best selling male of 1981" on a special live edition of "Top Of The Pops" which saw a number of groups and artists from '81 reunite. Sadly Shaky wasn't there, but two very brief clips were shown as Steve Wright announced the top ten selling singles of the year, with Shaky at No.10 with "You Drive Me Crazy" and No.4 with "This Ole House".

Shaky’s backing singer Tony Rivers was today on BBC 2’s “I Love a 1970’s Christmas” in which he talked about those 70’s Top Of The Pops albums on which he appeared.  The clips of  Tony in the recording studio singing Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” were played by an actor.  Tony’s version was described as almost indistinguishable from the original by the critics (well done Tony!).  You can visit Tony's site at tonyrivers.com and read about his work on the TOTP albums.
