Space Art    by David Flynn

These paintings were intended for an illustrated story book for children that never got beyond the planning stage. I grew up in the age that expected space to be full of mystery and great adventure. This has largely been replaced by the idea of space as  cold, lifeless and, quite frankly, boring.   Mankind hasn't got a great record for seeing much beyond his own two feet. The dream that one day soon we would be knocking the red sand of Mars off our boots or watch the setting of Saturn across the frozen rivers of Titan maybe realized later rather than sooner. Much later!
