The ruins of Newminster Abbey are behind the Abbeyfield School and when they were excavated tiles were found which are incorporated into the design for this millenium project. This has been hooked by the children of the school from the age of three years upward with help from volunteers. It was design by Sheila Wilson who helped with the hooking and Irene Bruce and Gladys Ainsley of Woodhorn Matters did the lettering. |
