CCCC: Capital Campaign for Clean Cars

CCCC was formed in 1995 by Simon Roberts as part of a consortium including Ove Arup & Partners that was applying for Millennium funding. The proposal then was to install charging outlets for electric vehicles (EVs) across London. That application was rejected.

Nevertheless CCCC has made progress: the first on-street charging post in the UK was officially opened on Thursday 15th April 1999. See the chronology for details of the '4-year battle'.

This part of the S4S site contains information about the charging post, the official opening, costs, experiences so far with the facility, suppliers of EVs and many links.
