Peugeot 106
The electric car owned by CCCC is a standard Peugeot 106 electric. Peugeot (UK) (no mention of EVs) appear rather shy of their electric models. Most details about the 106 electric appear to be provided by SAFT, the French manufacturer of the batteries it uses. There are also details of the Peugeot and Citroën EVs at the site of PSA, the Peugeot Citroën Group. MIRA local (Motor Industry Research Association) in the UK have a page of specifications that they provide as part of their "Advanced powertrain EV forum".
The Peugeot 106 Electric cost £9300 to buy inclusive of VAT. This was with a grant of £5000 awarded to the Capital Campaign for Clean Cars by the Energy Saving Trust through their Powershift programme. Note that the battery still belongs to Peugeot. It is leased at £100 per month inclusive of VAT.
Running costs are 1p per mile when charged overnight on Economy 7. If charging during the day is necessary, the rate increases to about 2.5 p per mile. If 10,000 miles are travelled per year, the battery lease works out to 12.5 p per mile. This doubles to 25 p per mile if 5000 miles are covered.
