On 11th March 1999, the first on-street charging point in the UK for an electric car became fully commissioned outside 4 Lansdowne Gardens, London SW8, a domestic household. The charging point has been used in conjunction with a Peugeot 106 electric for all the car journeys within London of that household.

This report covers the first 12 months of use of the charging point and electric car. The report is intended for,

• ourselves, the owners and users, to see how we are getting on,

• the sponsors (Energy Saving Trust and London Electricity plc),

• other EV (electric vehicle) users to compare notes on performance,

• those new to EVs who might be interested in getting one,

• furthering the debate between supporters and sceptics of EVs.
