Welcome to the SKEGNESS CRICKET CLUB SITE.
We are situated in the county of Lincolnshire, right on the east coast of England. Skegness is one of the oldest and most famous tourist resorts in the country with many amenities.
We are a club with a long, rich and colourful history, and we have been in existence since at least 1877. Our Richmond Drive ground was once known as being one of the finest in the country and is still renowned throughout the area for the facilities is provides. That it is in existence at all owes a lot to the 9th Earl of Scarborough who was instrumental in developing it, along with much of the town of Skegness.
Our First XI currently play in the Lincolnshire County Cricket League Premier Division but we have ambitions to make it to the County Board League.
The Second XI are members of the East Lindsey League, a league that covers the local area. Opponents are from many of the villages that make up this part of the county.
Additionally we run a Mid-week team and a Sunday Eleven both of which play home games against touring sides and teams from all over the Midlands area of England.
Spectators are always more than welcome, there is no entry fee to the ground unless you bring a car and then normal car parking fees apply.
We also have a growing and thriving youth section where youngsters can have fun and enjoy themselves at the same time as receiving coaching from the qualified coaching staff. Coaching is provided in a safe environment and aims to help the youngsters play the game in the correct spirit at as high a level of expertise as possible. Youth cricket in this area is very much at a developmental stage and there are some exciting plans for the coming seasons. This is a vital part of the club and more and more effort and resources are being put into it. Our youth set-up is going from strength to strength playing league games at Under-15 level in the East Lindsey Youth League. We are looking to enhance our youth section by forming an Under-13 team to compete in the local Youth League.
