BiographiesAlistair CameronDirector of PhotographyAlistair Cameron trained at BBC Ealing before forming his own production company to make documentaries, corporate videos and commercials. He has been freelance since 1987 and has shot over 100 UK broadcast programmes including documentaries about characters as diverse as Robert Lepage, Norman Foster, Salvador Dali, Raymond Chandler, and AS Byatt. He shot Rock Managers for Channel 4, Hiroshima for Channel 4's Witness series, Great Housewives for C4's Cutting Edge series, Millennium, a co-production between the BBC and CNN, and The Final Frame for Film on Four, directed by Paul Oremland. His first feature film was Like It Is starring Roger Daltrey and Danni Behr. Cameron's most recent film, Prometheus, directed by Tony Harrison, debuted at the London Film Festival in 1998 and was released in 1999. He is currently working on Orpheus for BBC 2, written by Tony Harrison and directed by Peter Symes, and a series of 16mm films for the artists Jane & Louise Wilson including Gamma, which was nominated for the 1999 Turner Prize and recently exhibited at London's Serpentine Gallery. |
