Thomas Fisher

Alan

Thomas Fisher got into acting by accident - while he was at university studying English he met future directors Ben Hopkins and David Farr. Hopkins cast Thomas in all his early short films and Farr subsequently directed Thomas in his first professional theatre roles including The Great Highway at the Gate in 1993, Resolution at the Battersea Arts Centre in 1994, and in Leonce and Lena in '97.

Thomas was most recently seen is Stephen Sommers' blockbuster hit The Mummy Returns and features in Michael Apted's eagerly awaited Enigma. He was reunited with Ben Hopkins for the short film Simon Magus and the feature film The Nine Lives of Tomas Katz which Thomas co-wrote and in which he plays all nine characters. TV work includes Channel 4's North Square; director Coky Giedroyc's version of Aristophanes for Channel 4 and Dennis Potter's 'Karaoke' which was directed for BBC TV by Renny Rye.

Thomas' theatre work also includes a tour with the Royal Shakespeare Company in Comedy of Errors directed by Tim Supple and The Glory of Living directed by Kathryn Hunter which ran at the Royal Court Theatre in 1998. He played the bouncer in Murray Gold's 50 Revolutions at the Whitehall Theatre and Hansel in Hansel and Gretel at the Lyric Hammersmith.

Thomas Fisher

In The Truth Game, Thomas plays Alan, the shy boyfriend of Alex (Jennifer White) who works long hours with addicts and homeless people. Alan is not particularly adept at social situations, he's more comfortable with the people under his professional care, or alone with Alex where she draws him out and encourages him to express himself. He's not really interested in the seemingly fast lives of some of their friends and would prefer an evening in to an evening out.
