Crown Of Thorns

As part of Christ's final humiliation he was forced to wear a crown of twisted thorns, in mockery of his claimed position as "King Of The Jews", as he hung dying on the cross.

The Sainte-Chapelle, in the Palais de Justice on the Ile de la Cite in the center of Paris, was erected by Louis IX, king of France, between January of 1246 and Apr. 25, 1248 to house the Crown of Thorns and a fragment of the True Cross.
