Emma,
Lady Hamilton, b. 1761?, d. Jan. 15, 1815, was the mistress
of the British admiral Horatio Nelson. The wife of Sir William Hamilton (1730-1803),
the British ambassador to Naples, she began her liaison with Nelson in 1798 and bore him two daughters.
She inherited money from both Hamilton and Nelson but died in poverty.
