Clacton-on-Sea St. John Ambulance was officialy formed on 02 February 1926 with 21 members, the division meetings were held at the Blue Lagoon dance hall, Clacton Pier. The Clacton Pier Company owned the ambulance, use of the ambulance was free to take casualties to the local hospital, but if the ambulance was needed to take any to colchester a fee of 30s was required to cover the cost of wear and tear and petrol. As a St. John volunteer, you'll get the very best in First Aid training. And you'll have the chance to put your new skills into action at every kind of public event. you'll also be able to provide expert care for those in your community who are vulnerable or in need. St. John Ambulance is the premier First Aid organisation in the UK and operates in 40 countries worldwide. We have more than 70,000 volunteers aged 6 to 65. St. John Ambulance provides First Aid at many events not just local football, carnivals and fates we also provide First Aid at these events too. Like the Six Nations Rugby, London Marathon or Wimbledon Tenis to name but a few events that members from all accross the country travel to, in order to assist with Providing First Aid.
