Hello my name is Gavin R Walker and, at present, I live in Egremont, a market town in West Cumbria. My present post is Team Vicar in the Team Parish of Egremont and Haile. I was born in 1943.

I started my career as a Chartered Accountant, training in the City of London and working in London, Oxford and Slough. At the age of 33, I commenced training for the ordained ministry in the Church of England at the College of the Resurrection, Mirfield, West Yorkshire.

I was made Deacon in 1978 and priested in 1979. I have had ministries in Wakefield, West Yorkshire; Northallerton. North Yorkshire; Brotherton, North Yorkshire; Dewsbury, West Yorkshire and, since January 1999, in Egremont, West Cumbria.

I met Jo, my wife, in 1979 and we have been happily married since October of that year. Children have not come our way but we have cared for a succession of stray dogs and the occasional rodent and next-door's cat.
