Poetry (Verse) by Gavin R Walker - staffa |
Roller-coaster Wrinklies |
Up and up, still going up - |
When will we get to the top? |
Here we are now - O – O - we're going down! |
Is this ride ever to stop? |
Open your eyes, look, enjoy - |
This is what having fun means, |
Better than dancing or strolling the prom - |
I feel I'm back in my teens! |
What have you got on your heads, |
Viking horns, Kiss-me-quick hat - |
Come, don't you think you look silly my dears? |
Dafter than wearing a cap. |
Coastering wrinklies are we. |
In Blackpool, we let down our hair. |
Others play bingo or waltz in the Tower, |
But we love the fun of the fair. |
