Articles of Association
the "CHALLENGE" cup
These "Articles of Association" define the rules & regulation of the Challenge Cup. They apply first & foremost.
The following "terms" are defined as follows:
"The Association"
This is the term given for the alliance between the Finchley Federation & the
Winchmore Hill Federation.
"The Finchley Federation"
The squad of players eligible to represent Finchley in The Challenge cup.
"The Winchmore Hill Federation"
The squad of players eligible to represent Winchmore Hill in the Challenge cup
"Articles of Association"
The rules of the Association
"The council of eight"
Shall be the governing body of the Association & is made up of the Founder
members.
"The founder members"
This shall be made up of the four members of each of Federations Challenge cup
committee.
This shall currently consists of -
Kevin Chapman, Martin Fox, Stefano Nocivelli & Aiden Devine representing Finchley.

Ian Broadway, Bernie Butler, Dave Case & Chris Dyer representing Winchmore Hill.
"The Finchley Challenge Cup committee"
The committee has the power to decide the Finchley matters within the framework of the
articles.
"The Winchmore Hill Challenge cup committee"
This committee has the power to decide the Winchmore Hill matters within the framework
of the Articles.
1) The Challenge cup shall be played annually at "Toft Golf Course". It shall be played between representatives from "the Finchley federation" & "the Winchmore Hill federation" using the format decided at, by the "council of Eight". It shall be played as these articles of association allow.
2) "The council of eight" shall consist of "the Founder Members" & must be made up of the four members from the Finchley Challenge cup committee & the Winchmore Hill Challenge cup committee.
3) "The council of eight" shall have sole control over the "Articles of
Association".
Only "The council of eight", can amend any rule laid down by this article.
All rule changes require a three quarter's majority of "The council of eight".
All other business by simple majority vote.
4) Members of "the council of eight" can resign their post or can be removed by a three quarter's majority of "The council of eight". Any member removed from the council automatically forfeits their place from the Finchley Challenge cup committee or the Winchmore Hill Challenge cup committee.
5) A person eligible to play for the same Federation as that member who left must fill A.S.A.P any vacant position on the council. New members of the council must be approved by a three-quarters majority vote of "the council of eight" taken by the whole council. Once approved they shall become members of their Federation "challenge cup committee".
6) "The Finchley Challenge cup committee" shall consist of the four members who represent Finchley on "the Council of Eight". They can only be replaced in accordance with article 4, & replaced in accordance with article 5.
7) "The Winchmore Hill Challenge cup committee" shall consist of the four members who represent Winchmore Hill on "the Council of Eight". They can only be replaced in accordance with article 4, & replaced in accordance with article 5.
8) "The Finchley challenge cup committee" & "the Winchmore Hill
challenge cup committee" must nominate a Team captain.
There are no restrictions as to who can be nominated other then they must be eligible to
play for their own Federation.
Challenge cup committees' are allowed to decide for themselves, when, how & if the
captain should be changed or removed. A simple majority vote is required within each
Federation.
9) "The Finchley challenge cup committee" & "the Winchmore Hill challenge cup committee" shall reserve the right to nominate a captain by a simple majority vote of there own committee.
10) Captains are allowed to be non-playing captains.
11) It shall be the captain's responsibility to produce a list of players they deem to
be eligible to represent their Federation in the Challenge Cup.
This list must be approved by the opposing captain.
They shall do this using the following guidelines:
a. Where they live.
b. Where they are historically from.
c. Do they really represent their Federation.
Players are able to switch sides if they change address & if captains agree.
Players have no say as to which they would prefer to play for.
Players can also be deemed to be ineligible to play.
Any indecision can be put, for approval by a majority vote of "the Council of
Eight."
12) Captains are allowed to choose any eligible player to represent their Federation in
"the Challenge Cup".
-Any player who is selected and not a member of "The Inches Golf Society"
must be
declared for approval by the other captain.
13) Each captain must declare his team 2 weeks before the event.
The team order cannot be changed thereafter. Any changes to team members must be declared
for approval by the other captain.
Any captain failing to do so will forfeit the title whether or not the match is played.
14) All rules of golf & local rules shall apply & the respective penalties must
be abided by.
In Matchplay "give ME's" are allowed but not in strokeplay. This effects the
Texas Scramble in that the ball must be holed out at every green except where
all players agree.
Although this is a competition, fairness will be tolerated, providing the players ask the
opposition for approval, regarding any decision they may need to make.
All penalties due must be asked for at the time of the misdemeanour & not after the
event.
Captains should make sure the players know the rules & when to claim penalties.
15) The handicaps used shall be the current handicaps; players play off, in "The
Inches Golf Society" when the competition is held.
Where a player is selected who is not a member of T.I.G.S. then the captains shall decide
the relevant handicaps, using all available information. Their decision will be final.
16) The agreed format of play and the subsequent point scoring system shall be as decided at, by "the council of eight"
17) "The Council of Eight" shall resolve any conflict.
