| Chester 1 Defeat Caergwrle | |||
Chester's Wirral League first team have won their second game of the season, defeating potential winners Caergwrle 3½-1½.
Very early on, Chester took the lead due to Caergwrle board one John Gorman failing to arrive for his match with Chris Doran.
Chester captain Steve Lloyd had been struggling to find a fifth player as both Matt Demmon and David Bryan were both away, and arrived on Tuesday night with only four confirmed players. However thankfully Matt Demmon made an appearance and was immediately drafted.
Matt Demmon played board three against Edwin Livesey. It was a close game, but a mistake from Livesey gave Demmon a powerful rook on the seventh rank and a good bishop on

the long a8-h1 diagonal. Livesey resigned when it became clear the two pieces could combine to capture material.
The next game to finish was on board two, where Chester's Ard van Bergen agreed a draw with Caergwrle's Rob Skinner. Then the victory was sealed as Graham Bromley defeated Nick Maung after Maung resigned in time trouble.
The match was sealed, however Caergwrle were able to salvage some pride back with David Parker-Williams defeating captain Steve Lloyd.
Fourth Team Lose At Mold
Chester's fourth team were defeat by a narrow 3-2 score line away against Buckley/Mold 1. Chester 4 had one of their stronge-
