About The Club

Rhyl Chess Club was formed in 1966 by a local GP and a Hungarian resident and quickly joined division one and two in the Chester & District League. They won the league in 1972 and and in 1992, and have won the knock out tournament on at least 4 occasions.

Rhyl Chess Club operate 2 teams in the Chester League.

The Venue

Rhyl Chess Club currently play in a medium sized room upstairs in the RAFA Club. There is a bar below serving hard and soft drinks.
