FOOD,
TREAT, TITBITS & TOYS -
Treats or Toys should not be used during each exercise under test, only
between exercises (although not to an excessive extent). If a dog will not
perform the exercise without the use of food or toys it should be deemed
'not- ready'.
RE
TAKING THE TEST - When
re-taking a Good Citizen Test - all exercises must be completed, not just an
exercise that was deemed 'not-ready' before.
SECOND
ATTEMPTS ON EXERCISES UNDER TEST
- Second attempts are generally not permitted. however, in exceptional
circumstances, at the examiner's discretion the examiner may request an
exercise to be repeated.
USE OF
A MUZZLE, HALTI OR HEAD COLLAR
- Muzzles cannot be used in any Good Citizen Test. With regard to Haltis and
Head Collars, the examiner should satisfy themselves that when the Halti/Head
Collar is removed the dog will remain under control.
DOG
IDENTIFICATION DISCS -
Any dog taking part in a Good Citizen Test must wear an identification disc.
The law states that any dog walked in a public place must wear a collar with
identification displayed on, or attached to, it, also the information
required on an ID disc is the name and address of the owner. Other
information is optional.
ROSETTES - Rosettes and
certificates are awarded free of charge for the Puppy Foundation and Bronze
Awards only. Silver and Gold Award achievers can purchase a silver coloured
dog tag (£2.00), Silver Award Rosette (£2.50), Gold colour pin badge (£2.00)
or gold Award rosette (£2.50)
